Want to Know Why You're Stuck in a Rut? (And How to Fix It).
Your quiz results are in! Based on your answers, the #1 problem keeping you stuck in a rut and feeling unfulfilled is…

OVERWHELM

OVERWHELM

… stress is dictating your life, your brain is maxed out, and it feels like there is no room left on your hard drive. Burnout is creeping up fast.

It’s ruling your conscious + unconscious mind, flashing up warning signs telling you that no matter how fast you run, you’ll never get to the finish line.

But more importantly, it’s preventing you from creating and living your dream life.

However, the challenge is not the stress itself. As you will discover, there are many ways to quickly cut that down. No, the biggest issue happens when we normalize it. We become so used to having high-stress levels that we adapt to it rather than make it a mission to rise above it. And especially if we’ve never been shown the tools of how to do that.
Remember, burnout doesn’t happen overnight, it happens over an extended period of time. Like a slow boiling kettle. By the time the steam is visible, it’s already too hot.

There are many reasons people get stressed but most of them get looked at externally. ‘I don’t have enough time in the day.’ ‘I don’t have enough money.’ ‘I need to get all these things done but don’t really know where to start.’ All of these sound like acceptable reasons to feel stressed and overwhelmed but they all have one thing in common. They are symptoms, not causes. The real causes are more to do with our internal make-up or what I call ‘our model of reality’. If we point the flashlight there we can start seeing why some people get overwhelmed by things and others don’t.

Ultimately most overwhelm and stress is caused by just a few internal things. Such as unmet expectations. The outer world does not fit the pictures of what my inner world says it should look like. Expecting ‘us’ from other people. A lack of a compelling short or long-term future, or a relationship to time that’s constantly applying pressure to your schedule like a tightening vice.

A big challenge is that most of our limiting beliefs, the ones that cause us to have a model of reality that is prone to overwhelm, operate beneath our conscious awareness. Luckily though, there are some powerful ways we can overcome them. And understanding where it starts, and how it builds up, is the first step in reducing the overwhelm you’re feeling right now.

So what are the first steps in overcoming the feeling of overwhelm?

Identifying and releasing your subconscious brakes is the piece of the puzzle that allows you to stop struggling against the current of life and shift your focus towards positioning yourself better in the river.

UNLOCK THE DOOR TO YOUR MIND AND FREE UP SOME SPACE ON YOUR INTERNAL HARD DRIVE

I mentioned this earlier but the front of your brain, what we call the neocortex, acts like a computer hard drive. There’s only so much data it can handle at once.

If you are feeling overwhelmed by the number of things going on it’s important to get them out of your head. The brain counts one, two, three, many! Doing a regular brain dump of everything quickly helps reduce overwhelm by numbers. Start with the big topics first, such as weddings, holidays, redecorating, and then put the smaller tasks or related topics underneath.

If you are feeling overwhelmed by circumstances rather than tasks, that needs a different strategy and one that I cover in the additional free training.

Another way to help with overwhelm is through physical exercise. Stress causes pressure and exercise is a great way to release that through producing a very different set of biochemicals. Exercise not only keeps your body healthy, but it also helps your brain function better.

Studies have shown that exercise can improve memory, increase focus, and even reduce anxiety and depression.

Another big factor in making stress a stranger is to let go of things that no longer serve you. Whether it’s a grudge against someone or an old hobby that you no longer enjoy, past excuses that no longer hold water but are so familiar to you, you keep believing them. You get the idea. By asking yourself powerful questions such as “why do I believe that?” or “Is this still true for me?”, you’ll be amazed how fast you can clean up your thinking.

Any of these inner monologues sound familiar?

I am so tired of trying and getting nowhere but feel completely powerless to change things.
I feel like I’m not good enough. Everything is such a struggle and I’m just so frustrated.
Why am I stuck in this rut feeling like there is no way out? I want to make changes but then fear takes over.
I’ve lost my spark and am reaching burnout. I don’t have the energy or motivation to keep this up.
I just feel empty and sad like I’m not truly living my life. All I do is work and hustle, then work and hustle some more.
I can’t put myself out. What if it all goes wrong and I fail completely?
The next time you hold yourself back from doing something through self-doubt, overwhelm, mental capacity, or stress, I want you to remember this…

Rising above stress and burnout begins with self-reflection and asking yourself the right questions.

Albert Einstein famously said, “The most important decision we make is whether we believe we live in a friendly or hostile universe.”

So you ask yourself, what’s a hostile universe?

It’s a space where randomness and chaos thrive. It fosters the belief that everything can go wrong, there is no order or harmony, and we’re at jumble’s mercy.

Having this relationship to our reality promotes the need for control. And the more we try to control (especially other people) the more stressed and overwhelmed we often get. This need to control plummets our chances of success and is exhausting. It zaps your energy and very quickly turns stress into burnout.

But when we shift our focus to believing we live in a friendly universe it changes our entire relationship to things that don’t fit our pictures.
Now we start looking for a bigger reason. Our self-talk begins to use phrases like “well if this doesn’t work out, it’s because something better is on its way.”

When we have an overarching belief that life happens for us, rather than to us, a lot of drama starts to fade.

Chances, possibilities, opportunities, and synchronicities start to appear more often.

We become what I call an ‘inverse paranoid’. In other words, we start thinking that the whole universe is involved in a secret conspiracy to make us happy and successful. Life becomes a game of noticing what’s right, rather than looking for what’s wrong. And the result is a complete shift in mental health.

Think about it for a minute, if you make it a habit to watch events through a negative lens, you’ll naturally generate destructive scenarios. It stands to reason, after all, life doesn’t run smoothly all of the time. It isn’t a well-oiled machine where disaster never strikes.

Things which are completely out of our control will and can go wrong. Trying to manipulate scenarios so they unfold the way we want them to, leads to a lot of pressure.

We need to remember there are no straight lines in nature. This is why resisting the natural bends along the river of life will always lead to burnout.

Instead, try flowing and allowing life’s natural waves to modulate your reality. Hold tight to the belief that you live in a friendly universe–studies on stress levels and health prove that this one shift has many benefits over time.

Make the choice to live in a friendly universe.

That’s when you start to defy the rules of burnout, by letting go of the things you can’t control and taking action on the things you can.

Stress can shape our decisions and can sentence us to undesired outcomes. But the decision to move away from stress and channel your focus into finding solutions will always help you bounce back from burnout.

The Four Levels of Consciousness

Have you ever wondered why we perceive the world the way we do? Why do some people seem to flow through life and get everything they want effortlessly, while others spend most of their time in hustle mode?

The reason is that there are four levels of consciousness that humans can experience, and each level represents a different way of understanding the world around us. Each level corresponds to a different mindset or worldview that shapes how we perceive ourselves and the world around us.

01:

TO ME

YOU ARE A VICTIM. You perceive reality as something outside of your control, nothing is really your fault as you’re at the mercy of external circumstances that don’t depend on you.

This mindset is limiting and demoralizing, keeping you stuck. It’s stopping you from taking any kind of action to change your reality.

In fact, ‘To Me’ is your alibi, it allows you to justify why your dreams didn’t come true…

….Because everything happens to you right?

You say things such as, “I’d have my own business now but I was never given the opportunities that others had.”

This level of consciousness leaves you afraid to take risks, fearing the unknown, and scared to make big changes.

After all, it’s much easier to stay where you are, with someone or something to blame when things go wrong than it is to take action and do something about it yourself.

02:

BY ME

YOU ARE AN ACHIEVER. You realize that you can have the life you’ve dreamed of. It won’t be easy, but with some grit, determination and hard work, it can and will happen.

You’re the engine powering your own success.

‘By Me’ is about jumping in the river and swimming to where you want to go.

You say things such as, “Nobody helped me so I helped myself. I made opportunities happen and now I have my own business.”

This level of consciousness is characterized by a shift in perspective from victimhood to empowerment. Just by letting go of blame and replacing it with personal responsibility you can quickly progress from ‘To-Me’ to ‘By-Me’.

But there is a downside. Although you’re now in a much better position than at the ‘To Me’ level, being at the ‘By Me’ level is exhausting. Many ‘stressed-out Sam’s’ in By-Me are on their way to becoming ‘heart-attack Harry’ or ‘burnt-out Barry’.

The constant hustle and pressure aren’t the way to live a happy and fulfilled life. You’re forcing your way through life instead of flowing through life. However, there is a different way.

03:

THROUGH ME

YOU ARE IN A FLOW STATE. Things happen to you effortlessly, from doors opening at the right time to people appearing in your life just when you need them.

And it isn’t down to luck or circumstance, but scientific principles you’re consciously applying with certainty.

You say things like, “I am going to change people’s lives by doing X because I know this is my calling in life.”

But ‘Through Me’ isn’t easy to understand, and many people find it hard to maintain, leaving them swimming upstream rather than flowing with the river.

To truly make the shift from ‘By Me’ to ‘Through Me’, give up your need for control and replace it with knowing. You have nothing to control and nothing to defend and a calm inner knowing that you’ll your goals will always happen. Even if you don’t know the ‘how’.

04:

AS ME

YOU ARE AT ONE WITH THE WORLD. This level takes away many of the religious connotations, which causes division among the masses. ‘As Me’ is a sense of oneness and connection, with no separation.

You believe you are part of a whole, connected universe.

You say things like, “I am part of the greater fabric of life, and my mission is to connect with and make the world a better place.”

This high level of consciousness is where most of the spiritual masters arrived at and taught from. It allows us to be in a permanent state of love, compassion, and oneness with all that is. It helps us see the beauty in all things and feel deeply grateful for the world around us.

UNLOCK YOUR POTENTIAL

Understanding the four levels of consciousness can be a transformative experience. Each level offers unique challenges and growth opportunities, from the lowest level of unconsciousness to the highest level of enlightenment.

However, it’s important to remember that life is not a linear journey. We may move back and forth between levels at different times in our lives as we navigate the complexities of our inner and outer world.

“Why will life test you? Because theory doesn’t cover the price of admission to the highest levels of being.”

I get it. I also once believed that the harder I worked and the faster I achieved success, the happier I would be, but all it led to was discontentment and exhaustion (not to mention it almost killed me). I knew there had to be something better. So, over the past 30 years…

My mission is to help raise global consciousness and create lasting transformation so that people like you can be empowered to lead extraordinary lives that are not only successful but also fulfilling and purposeful.
